Shah Rukh Khan rues IPL schedule, says playoffs should have extra days in case of abandoned matches

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is happy with Kolkata Knight Riders’s (KKR) late-night victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad but has rued the lack of an off day in case of washed out ties..

Due to evening showers, the eliminator match was delayed.

Earlier on Wednesday, Sunrisers Hyderabad were restricted by KKR’s bowling attack for 128. As soon as Sunrisers’ innings got over, it began pouring.

KKR won the match as per Duckworth–Lewis method as they had to chase down 48 runs in 6 overs. KKR chased down the total in 5.2 overs with seven wickets in hand at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The match was delayed and began at 1 am on Thursday. This victory helped KKR to advance to the qualifier two which will be held on Friday evening.


SRK expressed displeasure with playoffs schedule in a tweet. The actor, who was at the stadium to watch KKR’s victory, was about to leave the ground, said, “play off need to have an extra day in case of an abandoned match.”

“Thx IPL for a great season & everything that goes with it. Time 2 leave in a bit if the rain doesn’t stop or the match doesn’t start,” he had tweeted earlier.

The IPL Governing Council (GC) runs the tournament on a tight schedule which is meant to be a rest period for international cricket.

As players hardly get any break in international cricket injuries has apparent among them.
