Chennai Super Kings sailed to their third IPL title by defeating SunRisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday night. It was Shane Watson’s unbeaten 117 that ensured there was no hiccup or looking back for the southern franchise. But it seemed, Dwayne Çhampion’ Bravo stole the night and that was so much on the cards, wasn’t it? He was omni-present with the ball and has played a pivotal role in CSK’s title run. He came good with the ball and on occasion wielded the willow as effectively as well. But the finale night belonged to Bravo, may be not because of his cricketing exploits but for his enigmatic persona off-the-field. To start off, Bravo was first seen sprinting alongside MS Dhoni and he gave him a good run for his money, mind you both the cricketers are well past thirties.

To give you a proper perspective, Bravo played 16 matches and scored a paltry 141 runs at a poor average of 35.25. It may represent his contribution properly, but please take into consideration the times when he walked out to bat, usually in the death end of the innings. So that means the strike rate should give us a proper perspective, he maintained an astounding strike rate of 154.94. Well any captain would take that. But with the ball his contribution was even more as he picked up 14 wickets. Here one also has to take into consideration that he was given the responsibility to bowl in the death. That is when the batters are looking to go after you. He turned out to be an asset for the CSK with his innumerable change-ups.

But did you spot Chris Gayle with Bravo after the match? We are certain you did not! Bravo, apparently was holding the trophy and celebrating the win. He was in high spirits when we suddenly witnessed Chris Gayle join his country-mate Dwayne. We cannot confirm if Bravo knew about Gayle’s presence but one thing we can confirm is that he was elated on seeing Gayle.
