April 14, 2018 Gold Coast CWG Day 10 Latest Updates:  Hello and welcome to the live commentary from the Day 10 of the Commonwealth Games 2018 from Gold Coast.

Earlier in the day, we already say – Indian sprinter Jinson Johnson created a new national record after finishing the 1500 metre track race in 3:37:86 in the Commonwealth Games 2018 here. Johnson, however failed to clinch the podium spot as he completed the race on the fifth spot.

Kenyan counter-parts Elijah Manangoi and Timothu Cheruiyot clinched the gold and silver respectively while Scottish Jake Wightman grabbed the bronze in the 1500 m track race final.

Premier Indian Javelin Thrower Neeraj Chopra on Saturday delivered his season best performance to clinch gold in the javelin throw event of the Commonwealth Games 2018 here. Chopra delivered the season best of 86.47 to clinch the top podium spot. It was thus the 21st Gold medal for India in the marquee tournament.

Chopra stayed ahead of Hamish Peacock from Australia with a throw of 82.59 — who settled for silver and Anderson Peters from Gernada who had the output of 82.20.

Premier Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal will face-off in the women’s singles final in the Commonwealth Games 2018 on Sunday after they thrashed their respective opponents in the semi-final round here on Saturday.

World No.3 P.V Sindhu defeated Michelle Li from Canada in straight games 21-18, 21-8 while Saina stayed firm in a close contest to overcome Kirsty Gilmour from Scotland 21-14, 18-21, 21-17.
