“We wanted the auction to be conducted after the venue is known so that we could have chosen our players accordingly but the BCCI has its own timelines to follow”, a franchise official was quoted as saying in Mumbai Mirror.
“We understand that the venue would be known by then,” another franchise official mentioned. Nevertheless, the IPL officials refrained from making any comments surrounding the same.
It is also believed that the auctions will take place in Jaipur, tentatively on December 17 and 18 respectively.
“We ideally want to get a clarity on the venue before getting into the auction. That will help us plan accordingly and get our choice of players,” one of the franchise bosses told this SportstarAlive, adding that the Board, hopefully, will announce the venue well before the auction.
If one goes by the report, Australian and English players will not be available as they will prepare for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup. Not just Australian and English players, but most international players will not be available for the last leg of the League because they will leave for their national duties with their respective countries to prepare for the World Cup.
