IPL 2019: Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly has been appointed as the advisor of Delhi Capitals franchise for the upcoming season of IPL. This comes as a major boost for Delhi Capitals who have a lot of youngsters in their squad. Ganguly would be guiding the bunch of players in the upcoming season which could make all the difference Capitals would be hoping for. It would also be interesting to see Ganguly work alongside former Australian captain Ricky Ponting. Both Ganguly and Ponting were instrumental for the rise of India and Australia respectively during their leadership. Capitals welcomed Ganguly in an extremely warm manner as the post read, “Tigers, say hello to our Royal Bengal Tiger! We’re delighted to welcome @SGanguly99 to Delhi Capitals, in the role of an Advisor.”

It would be beneficial for young players like Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer to learn the tricks of the trade from the veteran. Ganguly was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders and Pune Warriors XI in the past. This is the first time he will be a part of the IPL, not as a player. Ganguly is credited for the rise of youngsters like Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, and MS Dhoni.
