Indian cricket’s young prodigy Rishabh Pant has become very popular among the fans following impressive displays in the recently concluded series against Australia and New Zealand. Pant, who represents Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), recently featured in what a unique promotional video for the upcoming 20-over format tournament. In the video, the 21-year-old starts with crediting former Indian skipper Dhoni for being his idol. However, it ends with a twist where Pant issues a warning to Chennai Super Kings’s talismanic ‘Thala’.

“Mahi brother is like my Guru, had he not been there, maybe I wouldn’t have been a wicketkeeper-batsman. But this time in the Indian Premier League, I’m going to display such form that ‘Captain cool’ won’t remain so cool after all. Be ready Mahi, I’m coming, ” he says in the promotional video. The advertisement concludes with Dhoni seeing footage of Pant with a serious expression.


Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer make Delhi Capitals a settled batting unit and they will look to challenge the big guns of the tournament later this year.
