Andre Russell has been one of the star performers of the current campaign of Indian Premier League (IPL) and his most recent exploits were against Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Eden Gardens Stadium on Sunday.
The Windies batsmen, who recently received a call-up for the World Cup squad hammered 80* and was aided by Shubman Gill and Chris Lynn, who also slammed half-centuries as KKR posted an imposing 232/2 — the highest total in this year’s IPL. The hosts went on to win the match by 34 runs.
On Monday 29th April, Russell turned 31 and greeted by his fans and teammates. The wish that stood out came from his wife Jassym Lora: ‘Oh my sweet husband, I’m not just wishing for you to have a great birthday, I’m praying that you’re blessed with your heart’s desires.! Happy birthday Mi Amor! #happybirthdayhusband,’ she wrote on her official Instagram handle.
Russell and his wife are very popular on social media and they post pictures very actively. Lora is currently traveling with him in India across the T20 campaign to back him and was also seen with the batsman in the dressing room.
As the IPL draws closer to the playoffs, Russell’s KKR side currently stands on the fifth position with 10 points after 12 matches played and will face stiff competition for the fourth spot against the likes of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab.
