IPL 2019: It was on the cards and it happened when CSK skipper MS Dhoni walked out to bat at Chepauk one last time this season. There was thunderous applause from the fans on spotting Dhoni walking into bat in the iconic No 7 jersey. Dhoni was his usual self as he walked in, doing a little stretching with the bat. He walked in when CSK was 65/4 in the 13th over. CSK needed Dhoni to give them the finishing kick. He did it in style as he hit a brilliant 29-ball 37*. His innings was laced with three sixes, two consecutive maximums of Lasith Malinga.

Earlier in the day, despite losing their top order for just 65 runs, it was Dhoni and Rayudu who anchored the Chennai innings. However, a slow Chennai wicket didn’t let the home side reach a challenging total against the three-time IPL champions.

For Mumbai, Rahul Chahar starred with the ball with figures of 2/14 from his four overs while Krunal Pandya and Jayant Yadav bagged a wicket each.

Opting to bat first, the defending champions got off to a slow start with just 6 runs on the scorecard in the first two overs before Rahul came up with the first breakthrough, dismissing Faf du Plessis (6 of 11) in the first ball of the third over.
