IPL 2019 Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians Match 44: For the second time in the season, Chennai Super Kings will take the field without their chief – MS Dhoni in the highly-anticipated battle against Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Speaking after winning the toss, stand-in captain Suresh Raina revealed the reason behind Dhoni’s absence and said the veteran star was down with fever and is advised to take rest. Before the match as well, Dhoni was seen nowhere in the ground and as per the host broadcasters, he hasn’t taken the bus to the ground.
It is seen as a massive blow for the ‘men in yellow’, who has a dismal win percentage of 25 when Dhoni has not lead the popular CSK franchise. Along with Dhoni, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also missed the game against Mumbai due to health issues. Here’s how the Twitter world reacted on Dhoni’s absence from Chennai’s playing XI:
Speaking after winning the toss, Raina said, “We will bowl first, wicket still looks the same. I think dew will be the factor. MS and Jaddu are not well, they have fever and they will miss today’s game. We have three changes: MS, Jaddu and one more player is not playing (Faf), Dhruv Shorey, Murali Vijay and Santner comes in”.
