In his illustrious career so far, legendary MS Dhoni has achieved all the possible captaincy records be it while donning the national jersey for Indian team or his beloved yellow outfit for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). From becoming the only skipper in the world to win three different top ICC awards, Dhoni extended his captaincy credentials as he guided Chennai to get their hands around coveted Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy thrice.
In the 12th edition of IPL, Dhoni is once again on the cusp of achieving a major milestone. If Chennai register one more victory under Dhoni’s leadership, the veteran will become the first IPL captain in history to have 100 wins under his belt. Over the years, the 37-year old had established himself as a stalwart for Chennai Super Kings and his tactical nous is widely appreciated in all quarters of the cricketing fraternity.
Earlier this season, Dhoni entered the 150-matches club for CSK in IPL, thus becoming the second player to achieve this distinction.
Riding high on confidence, defending champs Chennai Super Kings will look to continue their dominant run as they take on Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Thursday. Chennai have five wins from six matches and are placed at the top of the standings, while the Rajasthan languish closer to the floor of the table.
“I have been here for a very long time. Lot of good things have happened for me here including my Test debut. The crowd loves CSK and I have been a part of the franchise from the start. It is a special connection and they have really adopted me. We have been cribbing about the track but we have ended up winning the game,” CSK skipper said after his side won their game against Kolkata Knight Riders.
