IPL 2019: It was a unique showdown which fans got to witness as Mumbai Indians resumed their training sessions building up to the IPL which starts on 23 March. It was Krunal Pandya taking on fielding coach Robin Singh who turns bowler. The equation is 10 to win off three balls. Singh bowls the first ball on Krunal’s hips as the batsman swivels to play it towards fine leg. Off the next ball which is in his preferred zone, he tonks it. Robin Singh applauds as he says that was a big hit under pressure. The third ball is again in his slot as Krunal dispatches it again. It seems Krunal may have won the mini-battle. Meanwhile, MI captain Rohit Shram will soon join the team. Others who were spotted during the net session was Hardik Pandya who had a bat and a bowl. Ishan Kishan also had a bat as all the players engaged in some stretching as well before heading off to the swanky Trident hotel.
Expectations will be sky-high from the western franchise after a poor show in the last edition. Mumbai Indians would know they have the team to go on and clinch the title but it is all about coming off well together. The franchise would have also learned a lot from their close losses last season and would like to improve upon that.
