IPL 2019: Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani hailed the team after they beat Kings XI Punjab by three wickets at Wankhede and also spoke to them about the match on the 13th of April. On the 13th, Mumbai Indians are playing Rajasthan Royals and for Mrs. Ambani, it is a match very close to her heart. The reason being her organisation supports the underprivileged kids. She says that because they would be present at the ground to cheer for the team, she wants them to play well and win it.
“The match on the 13th is really important for me as the underprivileged kids ESA supports would be at the ground. And because it is a once in a lifetime opportunity for them, I want you guys to make the day special for them. These kids will never get another opportunity and they have had to wait for this one, so please do not disappoint them,” said Neeta Ambani.
Meanwhile, stand-in skipper Kieron Pollard’s crucial 83 before a match-winning double from Alzarri Joseph helped Mumbai Indians pull off a three-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab at the Wankhede on Wednesday. In a challenging encounter, a Rohit Sharma-less Mumbai struggled in what seemed to be a one-sided match before stand-in skipper Pollard anchored midway through the innings. The West Indies batsman almost took Mumbai home before he miscued the pull shot straight to deep midwicket.
Pollard’s 31-ball 83, including 10 sixes, came to an end, giving Punjab a breather. With two required off the last ball, Alzarri Joseph, unbeaten on 115, pushed the ball down the ground and scampered for double to sneak out an unlikely victory for Mumbai.
