IPL 2019: Be it a cover-drive or going over the top or smashing a square cut with the utmost disdain, Prithvi Shaw showcased it all in his breezy 50 in the Eliminator. It was his 4th IPL fifty. Chasing 163 to win, Shaw cut loose from the outset and he was in no mood to stop as his shots were coming off well. He was dropped once but that did not stop him from attacking. Some felt Shaw had not lived up to his reputation in the league, but with this knock at such a crucial juncture in the tournament, he has settled the scores. During his knock, Shikhar was relaxed at the other end as Prithvi was taking all the risks.
Twitter hailed the future superstar with love after his attacking strokeplay:
Meanwhile, Shaw also equaled Gill to hit most fifties before 20.
At the time of filing the copy, Dhawan had just departed for 17 off 16 balls and Hyderabad was 66/1 in the eight over.
Earlier in the day, Hyderabad posted 162/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Keemo Paul with three wickets was the pick of their bowlers for Delhi as Guptill with 36 was the top run-scorer for Hyderabad.
