Highlights, IPL 2019, RR vs KKR Match 21: Chris Lynn (50 off 32) and Sunil Narine (47 off 25) starred in Kolkata Knight Riders’ thumping eight-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Sunday. Chasing a modest target of 140, Lynn and Narine took the Rajasthan bowlers to the cleaners as the duo forged a 91-run opening stand to help Kolkata register a comfortable victory with as many as 37 balls to spare. Lynn and Narine started the proceedings with a bang as Kolkata raced to 22/0 in the first two overs. Nothing seemed to be going right for Rajasthan, as Rahul Tripathi dropped Narine at point off Dhawal Kulkarni in the fourth over. In the next delivery, Lynn got an inside edge that hit the stumps but didn’t dislodge the bails before racing to the fine leg boundary. There was no looking back for the Kolkata openers who sent the Rajasthan fielders on a leather hunt all over the park. 22.31 IST: FOUR! Shot. This is all about the timing. The placement is good too. Tossed up leg break outside off, Uthappa drives it neatly through the gap in the covers and bisects the two men in the deep to find the fence.
22.28 IST: OUT! Shreyas Gopal removes Sunil Narine for 47. Gopal picks up the first wicket. Breaks this brisk 91-run stand beautifully. Fools Narine with the wrong ‘un, there’s some extra bounce on this one. Narine backs away to cut but gets an edge to Smith at first slip, who takes a sharp catch. A little too late though? Kolkata only need 49 to win off 69 balls. Kolkata Knight Riders 91/1 in 8.3 overs, need 49 runs to win vs Rajasthan Royals (139/3)
22.25 IST: SIX! That’s outta here! The boundaries are big here, but not enough it seems for Chris Lynn. He clears the fence once more. Tossed up on middle and leg, there’s no room for the ball to turn. Lynn gets low and slog sweeps it over the square leg boundary.

21.17 IST: NOT OUT! An off spinner on middle and turning back in a bit, Smith kneels down to play the sweep shot but misses. He is rapped on the pads, they appeal but the umpire remains unmoved. 21.15 IST: Shout for an lbw! Not given and Kolkata have taken it upstairs. DRS time, folks.
21.11 IST: OUT! Gurney gets his second wicket, Tripathi departs for 6! A very good delivery, nicely deceiving the batsman with a slower length ball outside off at 114.8 kph. Tripathi hangs back inside the crease to play the lofted shot over extra cover but ends up towering it in the air. Chawla makes no mistake inside the ring. Brilliant debut so far for the English boy.2
21.06 IST: FIFTY! Steve Smith smashes a much-needed half-century for Rajasthan. His 6th in this League. Prasidh Krishna attempts a slower short delivery but loses his radar completely. But can he finish it well for Rajasthan? RR 103/2 in 15 overs vs KKR
21.04 IST: FOUR! Fine timing and placement! A little bit of width outside off, Smith goes deep inside the crease and nicely opens the face of his blade to steer it past the point fielder. The third man fielder gives the chase but gives up quite easily. Could have attempted to put a dive there. Rajasthan 97/2 in 14.4 overs vs Kolkata
20.51 IST: OUT! Harry Gurney removes Jos Buttler for 37. Finds the fielder with surgical precision. A length delivery around off, Buttler attempts to heave it across the line but is a bit early into his shot. The ball catches the toe end of his blade and flies to deep mid-wicket. Shubman Gill doesn’t have to move an inch as he settles himself near the fence and takes the catch with utmost ease. A ‘slowish’ knock from Jos Buttler comes to an end along with the 72-run stand. Maiden wicket in the League for Harry Gurney. Rajasthan Royals 77/2 in 11.5 overs vs Kolkata Knight Riders
20.49 IST: SIX! Terrific strike from Jos Buttler! The length is on the shorter side around leg, the Englishman swivels on the back foot and pulls it massively over square leg for a biggie.

20.17 IST: FOUR! That’s nicely played. The outfield is quick and so once it’s past the inner circle, it’s always going to run away. A little too straight in line, Buttler flicks it through mid-wicket and finds the fence. Rajasthan Royals 16/1 in 3.3 overs vs Kolkata Knight Riders
20.12 IST: FOUR! There is very little margin for error while bowling in the Powerplay, especially to Buttler. Googly from Chahal. It is short on middle and leg, Buttler whips it through square leg for a boundary.

19.45 IST: Ajinkya Rahane – We have played three games in five days, we won against RCB and looking forward to this match. We were batting first, we need to play well against a team like KKR. We have to be aggressive against him (Russell) and bowl good line and lengths. Prashant Chopra and Midhun are in, Binny and Aaron miss out.
Dinesh Karthik – We will bowl first. The wicket looks good, will hold good for 40 overs, we would like to chase. We just need to keep the spirits high in the camp, the expectation on the team is always there, a score around 140 should be a par score. One change for us, Harry Gurney replaces Lockie Ferguson.
19.41 IST: Rajasthan Royals (Playing XI) – Ajinkya Rahane (C), Jos Buttler (wk), Steven Smith, Rahul Tripathi, Ben Stokes, Prashant Chopra, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Dhawal Kulkarni, Sudhesan Midhun

19.32 IST: TOSS – Dinesh Karthik wins toss as Kolkata Knight Riders opt to field vs Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.
19.25 IST: Jaydev Unadkat has been expensive, and not just in the auctions. In fact, RR have been guilty of hiding him on the field for at least the first 12 overs and only once he has been bowled out.
19.15 IST: “We keep putting him in tough situations and he keeps lifting his game. He is just too good..” – Chris Lynn about Russell’s super-human abilities.

The Carribean’s knock was laced with seven humungous sixes and he will look to emulate the performance against Rajasthan Royals. The visitors will also be brimming with confidence with their batsmen Nitish Rana, Andre Russell, Robin Uthappa and Shubhman Gill in top form. Rajasthan bowlers Jofra Archer, Jaidev Unadkat and Ben Stokes have leaked runs in the death overs.
