IPL 2019: Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar praised MS Dhoni, but what he also did was criticise Jaydev Unadkat and Umesh Yadav. It was Dhoni’s whirlwind 44 off 22 balls that helped CSK to a good total. Dhoni came good in the last over against Trent Boult and that is what Manjrekar pointed out in his tweet. He felt Dhoni took a quality bowler like Boult to the cleaners in no mean feat. His post read, “This was no Unadkat or Yadav, this was Trent Boult in the final over that Dhoni took to the cleaners.” Also Read - IPL 2020: Kagiso Rabada Says Cricket Has Given Him The Platform to 'Fight For The Right Causes'

Earlier in the tournament, Dhoni took a liking for Unadkat and Umesh in the last over and that is why Manjrekar was pointing that out. In other words, Manjrekar felt Jaydev and Umesh are not as good as Boult. Dhoni’s knock and his stumping of Iyer also helped him bag the Man of the Match award. The lightning-quick stumping of Iyer was also game-changing. With the 80-run-win, CSK once again pipped the Capitals to go top of the points table.

“I watch the ball and hit the ball. I think by 20th over you are almost ready and you swing at everything. It’s easier for somebody who has played 10 or 15 deliveries than somebody who has just come in to bat. It was holding on a bit, it wasn’t coming on nicely. I felt it was slightly difficult for Rayudu to hit. Rishabh helped me, he didn’t take his gloves off and that helped me a bit (to sneak in the bye). We knew there won’t be much dew on the field,” said Dhoni at the post-match presentation.
