IPL 2019: The pressure of the game seemed to have got to the players as Rashid Khan and Shane Watson engaged in an eye-staring episode during the game. Watson was going great guns and Rashid knew his wicket was the key and hence to get him distracted, the Afghanistani spinner tried other tricks. Somehow, it did not work as Watson’s 96 helped CSK gun down 175 against SRH to once again go top of the points table. His innings was laced with nine fours and six sixes. CSK has in all probability become the first team to make the playoffs as well.

Here is the video where you can see Watson-Rashid at loggerheads.

“I was due for runs, that’s for sure. I can’t thank Stephen Fleming and MS Dhoni enough for their belief in me. Most of the teams I’ve played in, I would have been dropped by now but they showed the trust in me. Of course, I was doing alright in the PSL and in the BBL too, struck the ball well. Needed some things to go my way, like it did today when Bhuvi was all over me. He is an incredibly skillful bowler as he swings it both ways,” said Watson after bagging the Man of the Match.

Meanwhile, a 77-run stand between Watson and Suresh Raina (38) created the platform and the former Australia all-rounder singlehandedly decimated the Sunrisers attack. What made it more difficult for the Sunrisers was the fact that their strike bowler Rashid Khan was pulverised by Watson, who took him to the cleaners with 44 coming off his spell.

Sandeep Sharma was another bowler, who was handed severe punishment as he went for 54 in 3.5 overs. Sandeep repeatedly bowled short and Watson would gleefully pull him. Skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/18 in 4 overs) had no option but to bowl the 19th over and left Sandeep with nine runs to defend.
