IPL 2019: It was not the usual cutting of a cake and then opening the bottle of champagne for Royal Challengers Bangalore after they beat Delhi Capitals by 17 runs to stay afloat in the league. AB De Villiers seemed to be leading the celebrations where he said something and the entire team started clapping in-sync. As the speech went on the noise of the clapping increased. Virat Kohli and the entire RCB team was present in what seemed to be the dressing room. The players were still in their jersey. RCB did an incredible job of giving the Kings a challenging chase of 203, Parthiv set the tone, ABD kept it going strong, and Marcus Stoinis helped finish off a great first inning for the Bold Team. De Villiers was the top-scorer as he smashed a 44-ball 82.
Here is the video where you can see ABD speaking as the entire team claps.
“I tried to stay calm in the last few overs. It is not easy always, the game is happening at a rapid pace. We know our home ground very well, it hasn’t been a great hunting ground for us to start with but we are turning things around now. And we are doing things well now. We are doing good as a team now. I still think 160 was a par score but it gets easier in the second innings. Our bowlers executed their plans to perfection in the end,” AB De Villiers said at the post-match presentation while bagging the Man of the match award.
Meanwhile, RCB has bounced back after a disastrous start to the tournament. They have won four of their last five matches.
