New Delhi: Virat Kohli played a heroic knock of 77 runs off 49 balls and led Royal Challengers Bangalore to their first win of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. RCB defeated Punjab Kings by 4 wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, on March 25. Apart from Kohli’s innings, his hilarious banter with Harpreet Brar that got caught in the stump mic is all over the headlines.

The incident came after the 12th over when RCB needed 74 more runs to win in the final 8 overs. Kohli passed a hilarious remark while Brar was bowling. “Ruk jaa *****, saans to lene de,” as captured by the stump microphone. Kohli was standing on the non-striker’s end while Maxwell was on the striker’s end. The video of this interaction is now going viral all across the social space.

Harpreet Brar picked up two big wickets of Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell in his four overs spell and only gave away 13 runs. Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan praised him and said “He’s bowling really well, especially bowling against left-handers, tremendous the way he soaked in the pressure and got us the breakthroughs. It’s a very big thing in Punjab, the Kabaddi thing, the people really connect with that thigh-five, happy to see him do it.”

Virat Kohli’s 77 and Dinesh Karthik’s blazing 28-run knock off just 10 balls helped RCB pick up their first win of IPL 2024. PBKS fought their hearts out but went down by four wickets against RCB at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB restricted the Punjab Kings to 176/6 before chasing down their target in 19.2 overs.

Brar’s outstanding bowling applied pressure on RCB in their chase as the spinner turned the tide by removing both Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell in quick succession before Virat Kohli’s authoritative 77(49) helped RCB register their first win of the IPL 2024.

They would try to carry on this momentum in their next match against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29 at the same venue. On the other hand, PBKS will try to get back on the winning track as they take on Lucknow Super Giants on March 30 in Lucknow.
