Powered by Will Jacks, who made a vital contribution with a brisk 36 off 26 deliveries (including three fours and three sixes) and an economical spell of 3 overs for just 14 runs and two wickets, Mumbai Indians delivered a complete team performance to notch their second win in a row.

The hosts emerged victorious by smartly reading the conditions at Wankhede Stadium and adjusting their approach accordingly, with every department clicking in unison for the five-time champions.

Mumbai's pace attack effectively utilized slower balls and back-of-length deliveries in the first innings, while executing pinpoint yorkers under pressure. During the chase, their batting unit displayed a well-thought-out strategy to keep the scoreboard ticking with regular boundaries, maintaining control of the match throughout.

Chasing a target of 163 on a pitch offering some turn and bounce, Mumbai Indians benefited from SRH's hesitation to introduce spin during the powerplay. As a result, MI comfortably reached 166/6 in 18.1 overs, securing their third victory of the season.

Although Rohit Sharma's innings came to a halt after a solid start of 26 off 16 balls, including three sixes, he played a key role in setting the tone for MI. The other batters made the most of the momentum he created.

Opening batsman Ryan Rickelton contributed a fluent 31, while Suryakumar Yadav provided vital support with a quickfire 26 (off 15 balls), including two sixes and as many fours, helping Jacks in the chase.

Captain Hardik Pandya played a vital cameo of 21 runs off just nine balls, bringing MI closer to victory. Tilak Varma (21 not out) then completed the job, guiding MI to a win as they finished at 166/6 in 18.1 overs, overcoming a brief hiccup. In the first innings, Sunrisers Hyderabad gained some momentum towards the end and posted a total of 162/5.

The Wankhede Stadium pitch provided some grip and turn for spinners, while slower deliveries worked well for the pace bowlers. As a result, the SRH batters struggled to adjust to the conditions for most of their innings.

However, a strong finish, with 57 runs coming off the last five overs, provided SRH with some crucial momentum in the closing stages.

The MI bowlers executed their strategies flawlessly, with Jasprit Bumrah finishing with a tidy 4-0-21-1, Trent Boult once again perfecting his yorkers for figures of 4-0-29-1, and Will Jacks delivering a standout 3-0-14-2 performance.

SRH faced challenges right from the start, despite Abhishek Sharma's solid knock of 40 from 28 balls, which included seven boundaries. The action began with an eventful first over, where both SRH openers were granted chances, courtesy of Deepak Chahar's bowling.

Abhishek advanced down the pitch, attempting a swing on the first ball. The ball moved slightly outward, taking an edge, but Jacks couldn't hold on to it. On the fourth ball, Travis Head played a shot straight to Karn Sharma at midwicket, who couldn't quite get a grip on the low catch as the ball just fell short of him.

Abhishek seemed to be finding his rhythm, hitting three boundaries off Chahar in the fifth over, but no momentum was truly built. Raj Angad Bawa timed his dive perfectly to claim Abhishek's wicket off Pandya, marking the first breakthrough. By then, it was clear that SRH would have to fight hard to reach a competitive total.

Jacks then dismissed former Mumbai Indians batter Ishan Kishan, stumping him for just two runs.

Travis Head couldn't break free despite multiple attempts. Although he got a lifeline when Hardik Pandya bowled a no-ball and he was caught off it, he couldn't take advantage and eventually perished for a sluggish 28 off 29 deliveries.

Mumbai's dominance was so strong that the match's first six came only in the 18th over the most productive one for SRH as Heinrich Klaasen hammered 21 runs off it, finishing with a brisk 37 from 28 balls (3 fours, 2 sixes), denting Chahar's final figures (4-0-47-0).

Aniket Verma provided late fireworks in the final over by launching two big sixes, and Pat Cummins added another, helping SRH plunder 22 crucial runs from Pandya's last over.
