Corruption is back in Indian cricket. According to TV reports, actor Arbaaz Khan has been summoned by Thane police, allegedly in connection with betting in IPL. We cannot confirm anything at the present moment, but it is learnt that the actor placed bets with top bookies. The Bollywood actor was summoned after a top bookie Sonu Jalan was arrested. Apparently, we also learn that Jalan workd closely with the D-Company, run Dawood Ibrahim. The cops would also investigate if he has fixed any international matches in the past or not.

The actor has been asked to record his statement by the anti-extortion cell of Thane, Crime Branch. What this means is that he will have to record a statement on the basis of which further investigations will take place. On May 16, the anti-extortion cell raided a building in Dombivali, which was found out to be the epicenter of IPL betting racket. Three people were allegedly arrested and two more arrests were made in the following days.

Jalan, who is of 41 years was nabbed at the Kalyan Sessions Court premises, where he had come to speak with his other partners-in-crime. Jalan is popularly known in the betting circles as ‘Sonu  Malad’. The cops of the Thane Police station are expecting his turnover to be anything close to Rs 100 Cr.
