Delhi Dynamos FC vs Mumbai City FC Highlights & Match Result: Total of six goals were scored, the highest this season thus far
There was nothing to separate Delhi Dynamos FC and Mumbai City FC even after six goals. The match number of 17 of Indian Super League 2016 (ISL) ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw. This was perhaps the ISL 2016 needed as it is in its third week. Visitors Mumbai City FC were in a lead throughout, however Delhi Dynamos had other ideas as they came from behind to level in last fifteen minutes of the game. There is no aggression from both the sides in the first half an hour of the match. Both teams were looking to keep the possessions, however there were not many scoring opportunities as defence of Mumabi and Delhi looked vigil. It was turning out to be monotonous game of football. But things changed when in 33rd minute, Krisztian Vadocz with assistance from Leo Costa helped Mumbai go one up in the match.
Six minutes later, Vadocz scored another goal to help Mumbai double the lead. Sony Norde’s free kick hit a crossbar and the ball rebounded only to be put back in the net by Vadocz’s header. The home side at half time were trailing 0-2. Also Check- ISL 2016 Points Table
Going by the shoreline after first half, it looked like Mumbai will play waiting game and maintain the lead. However, six minutes after the half time, Delhi opened the scoring via Richard Gadze who after an assist from Marcelo Leite Pereira netted a goal. Sony Norde then handed visitors a two-goal lead back when found the net in 69th minute. Norder got a superb lob pass substitute Otacilio Brito Alves and then he converted it into a goal after taking one on one with Soram Poirei.
With Mumbai back in the two-goal lead, it looked like hosts will suffer a harsh defeat. But the game changed course with Delhi’s back to back goals towards the end. In 76th minute Badara Badji scored a vital goal to cut down the deficit. In 82nd minute, Richard Gadze was down in the box after a foul as Delhi Dynamos were awarded a penalty. There were questions over the foul, but for Delhi it was nothing short of lucky break. Marcelo then converted it into the third goal for Delhi as the score line was leveled.
