Delhi Dynamos vs NorthEast United Highlights & Match Result: Both teams remain unbeaten in ISL 2016 so far

ISL 2016 Delhi Dynamos vs NorthEast United Highlights & Match Result: Dynamos, United settle for 1-1 draw

Eight yellow cards and two goals perhaps define the match between Delhi Dynamos FC and NorthEast United FC. In 14th match of Indian Super League 2016, Delhi and NorthEast play out 1-1 draw as the former played its first game of the season at home. However, the NorthEast supporters at the venue made their presence felt as well. After Kean Lewis opened the scoring for Delhi Dynamos FC in the 38th minute, Emiliano Alfaro in 51st minute helped NorthEast United FC draw level. In opening five minutes, Delhi Dynamos had a chance to take an early lead when Marcelo Leite Pereira attempted a goal from outside the box but found keeper in-between. The hosts kept the possession with them as they looked to play aggressively. In seventh minute, Rubén González Rocha of Delhi Dynamos was handed a yellow card when he blocked Nicolas Leandro Velez.

NorthEast United then were testing the Delhi defence, but the hosts did well. Katsumi Yusa was then was handed second yellow card of the match but was hard done by as replays suggested the dive he made was not intentional. However, in 25th minute, NorthEast had couple of chances to go 1-0 up. Both the teams had some opportunities to net the first goal of the match, but somehow the score line was kept at zero each. In 38th minutes, Kean Lewis broke the shackles when he received a corner from Marcelo. United Goalkeeper Subrata Paul left the post unattended as he came out to intercept and that is where Lewis found an opportunity to score. He netted a goal with ease as Dynamos went 1-0 up. Going into the break at half time, Dynamos maintained the lead. NorthEast United needed some magic to bounce back and that is what exactly happened. In 51st minute, Alfaro found the net to score an equaliser. Alfaro took two shots to help his side draw level. After his first shot got blocked, Alfaro showed the presence of mind as the ball came back to him and he fired it straight into the net.

After this equalizer none of the team was able to take the lead and the game ended in a draw. However, if not goals, the match saw plenty of yellow cards with players from both the sides getting booked.

Despite the draw, NorthEast United continues to occupy the top position on points table with ten points from five matches. Delhi Dynamos courtesy one point from this match climbed to third spot.
