ISL 2016 Points Table, Team Standings, Match Results: Mumbai City FC finish at the top of the table

The league stage of the Indian Super League ended on Sunday and we have the four semifinalists. Now in the last match of the league stage, Kerala Blasters FC beat NorthEast United FC 1-0. The ISL takes a break for a few days and will be back again with the all-important playoffs. That action kicks off after a break of five full days. So you see we are only getting started as far as the business end of the tournament is concerned.

Here you can catch everything you want to about the ISL 2016 points table. We will tell you all about the teams, the number of matches played, the wins, the losses, the draws and of course the points earned. There are eight teams vying for the playoff spots in the ISL. It is fair to say that this third edition of the tournament will be greatly benefited if we can have some really close matches. We need to see all eight teams really go for it as far as their chances in the competition are concerned. It is going to be a long season in the ISL. We will bring you all the updates and news on the tournament which is expected to grip the imagination of football fans for more than two months. It is fair to say that with only eight teams competing with each other, there is a little confusion on who stands where. All teams have a fair idea about their opponents and can eventually set a plan accordingly.

Atlético de Kolkata and Chennaiyin FC have been the two winners of the tournament thus far and what will really spice up things will be a new winner and it is fair to say that it is difficult to predict. Kerala Blasters and Goa have been the two runners-up which means that we have had four different teams in the two seasons as far as the finals go. Also Check- ISL 2016 Schedule TV Listings, Venues

One thing is for sure, predictions are most difficult to make. It will not be different at this point either. Anything other than a win will not shape up the points table and eventually the more results we have, the better it may be.You may have a case where each match can bring about a major change in the points table. You can also have something opposite where a bunch of matches can decide which way the fate of the teams is actually going. It will be interesting to see which teams are in the pack and which are away from it. With only eight teams in contention, at times there is no pack and the first few games can be a blessing as well as an issue. We feel that in a scenario like this, both things can happen.
