At the Indian Super League (ISL) 2017 players’ auction 134 players found teams during the five hour period on Sunday at a posh hotel in Mumbai but the auction left many players unhappy as they didn’t find any team during the drafts. Total 10 teams, including Jamshedpur FC and Bengaluru FC, locked horns to buy talented players to strengthen their teams for 2017-2018 ISL.

Among the renowned Indian players Gourmangi Singh, who had played for Pune FC last season, didn’t find any suitors. Gourmangi was in the national team for a long time. His base price was Rs 35 lakhs. The same has happened to Ravanan Dharamraj, who also didn’t find takers in the auction.

Rahim Nabi, is one of the big names in Indian football, has also gone unsold. Also read: Anas Edathodika, Eugeneson Lyngdoh, Subrata Paul Among Costliest Players: Complete List of Players Signed at ISL Draft 2017-2018

Multiple times I-League winners such as Debabrata Roy, who was plying his trade for Chennai City FC in the last I-League season, went unsold alongside his colleague Avishek Das.

On the other hand, three well-known left backs Gurjinder Kumar, Saumik Dey and Nallappan Mohanraj also didn’t find any clubs.

Other notable players who went unsold are former Bengaluru FC midfielders Darren Caldeira, Beikhokhei Beingaichho , former India international NS Manju, former Pune FC defender Srikanth Ramu, former India U-19 captain Souvik Das, promising winger Nikhil Kadam.

These unsold players will now look for teams in the I-League in the transfer market and these players will have to take part in the tournament unless some franchises decided to sign them outside the draft.
