With Steven Smith joining Kevin Pietersen, Faf du Plessis and Mitchell Marsh in the injury list of Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS), there is little hope of a possible recovery for the newcomers. Let us be honest, RPS have been ordinary this season. They have had only two wins in eight outings, losing as many as six games.

And now with injuries galore, there is little chance of a possible recovery. A lot has gone wrong for them with respect to the cricket on the field. Luck of course has also deserted them, with all injuries concerning major international stars.

Where do they go from here on? It is a tough question to answer. And it would require nothing short of a miracle from their captain MS Dhoni if they are to put the record back on track. They would need to play above their ability to get going and would have to have some luck in close matches. They still have a few games lined up for the resurrection to materialise.
