World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star John Cena returned to action for the second straight week, after remaining sidelined for the shoot and promotion of his movie ‘BumbleBee’. The 16-time champion was up against Daniel Bryan in a steel cage match and it was the latter who emerged victoriously.
According to reports, Cena’s match against Bryan came about the initial contestant AJ Styles failed the fitness test due to flu. Due to this, Cena fought Bryan in a second straight match.
Cena lost his second successive match against Bryan but earlier last week, he had defeated Baron Corbin when he made his comeback in WWE Live. In the event, Cena was welcomed back by the chairman, Vince McMahon and he took on Baron Corbin in the ring. In his introduction, Vince called Cena the greatest of all time. The appearance by the wrestler was his first since October 6, he will take part is more wrestling events in the company and will also make another appearance next week. He will remain out of action again from January 20 pertaining to the shooting process of his new movie, due to this he could be set to miss the pay-per-view event, Royal Rumble which take place on January 27th.
However, Cena will be in action during the coming week events of SmackDown and RAW. There is a good probability of a re-match between him and Daniel Bryan.
