Real Madrid completed a final practice session on Friday before their upcoming La Liga clash at home against minnows Levante.

Brazilian right-back Dani Carvajal did not attend the training session, continuing with his recovery programme from a calf injury sustained during their 0-1 Champions League defeat to CSKA Moscow, reports Efe news agency.

Brazilian defender Marcelo Vieira, French forward Karim Benzema and Welsh forward Gareth Bale all participated in the session led by head coach Julen Lopetegui.

ahead of the fixture, Lopetegui lauded the attitude of forwarding Gareth Bale who pulled out of international duties in a bid to recover soon from an injury and aid his club in the La Liga. The Welsh international is now back fully fit and ready for contention for the upcoming match against Levante.

The 29-year-old has come under the scrutiny of fans and media after poor form, he was also sidelined with an injury in the 1-0 defeat against Alaves.

“He has managed how he felt very sensibly, he has not forced himself with the national side. He has shown great responsibility and has a chance of playing tomorrow. Between today and tomorrow, we will see,” coach Lopetegui said during a press conference.

Real Madrid, currently placed at the fourth-place has not had the desired start to their campaign and are in a win-less form which can only be described as a crisis, going by Los Blancos standards. However, Lopetegui insisted that he is focused and ambitious.

“I feel great. I am the Real Madrid coach and the demands are huge. I am hungry and ambitious. We are focusing only on the Levante game, there is no larger objective. No doubt at all, I am extremely calm,” he added.

The current European champions will hope to get back in winning ways when they take on  Levante in the La Liga on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu.
