Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo predicted his side’s comeback against Atletico Madrid in the second-leg of the Champions League way ahead of the fixture. Juventus — aided by a Ronaldo hattrick —  outclassed Atletico Madrid as they came from a two-goal deficit from the first-leg to seal the quarterfinals spot with a 3-2 triumph.

Ronaldo’s former Manchester United teammate Patrice Evra shared their WhatsApp conversation where the Portuguese international, in supremely confident fashion, reassures him that Juventus will qualify and ‘smash’ Atletico Madrid.

“Bro I’m counting on you for the Champions League return,” Evra said. Before Ronaldo replied: “We’re going to pass bro, (at) home we smash them.”

The 33-year-old also shared a picture of himself with Evra, where he seems absolutely unfazed by any fear of elimination. The goal, quite evidently, was very clear for Ronaldo and he went to achieve just that.

Juventus have now drawn against Ajax in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. The Dutch side had previously eliminated Ronaldo’s former team and defending champions, Real Madrid in the round-of-16 tie. It will be an interesting fixture when these two sides meet; the winner of which will face the winner of the tie between Manchester City and Tottenham.
