Pretoria, July 29: India A registered their first win in the tri-nation series after beating Afghanistan A by seven wickets, with left-arm spinner Axar Patel and Karun Nair putting up impressive performances.
In the first game, India A lost to South Africa A in a low-scoring match. Axar finished with figures of 3 for 33 in 6 overs as India A bundled out their opposition for 149 in 40.5 overs after opting to bowl.
Tamil Nadu allrounder Vijay Shankar had figures of 3 for 24 while Yuzvendra Chahal bowled his complete spell of 10 overs to return with two wickets. For Afghanistan A, Sharafuddin Ashraf top-scored with a 39.
Karun Nair led India A’s chase with a 83-ball 57 while captain Manish Pandey chipped in with an unbeaten 41 off 52 balls. Both the batsmen added 67 runs for the third wicket after Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson fell cheaply.
It was Rishabh Pant who finished the match by scoring a breezy 10-ball 17.
