NSC vs WF The Hundred 2025 Match No 3 LIVE: SRH owner Kavya Maran's new team Northern Superchargers will begin their campaign this season with a clash against Welsh Fire in the third match of the tournament at Headingley in Leeds on Thursday.

Sunrisers Hyderabad owner and ‘Head of Sport’ of Sun TV Group, Kavya Maran, has spent a whopping Rs 1080 crore to buy 100 per cent stake in the Northern Superchargers franchise in The Hundred league in the UK. The Superchargers will be the third T20 franchise to be owned by the Sun TV Group in India after SRH and Sunrisers Eastern Cape in SA20. Both SRH and SEC have won the respective T20 titles at least once and Kavya Maran will be hoping to do the same with the Superchargers this year.

NSC came close to reaching the Playoffs stage in The Hundred 2024 season, finishing in 4th place – just outside the top 3 berths. They have handed the reigns of the team to Harry Brook, who is coming into this tournament fresh from his ‘Player of the Series’ performance against India in the ‘Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy’.

Brook scored 481 runs in 5 Tests against India with 2 hundreds and 2 fifties to his name. The Superchargers are being coached by mercurial England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff.

Kavya Maran has also signed up two Pakistan cricketers – Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim – as replacement for Ben Dwarshuis and Mitchell Santner, who are away on international duty.

Welsh Fire, on the other hand, finished in 6th place in 2024 season but will be hoping for better results this year with addition of star players like Steve Smith and Riley Meredith from Australia and England’s Jonny Bairstow.
