Several segments of the professional wrestling entertainment show have been produced with an Indian touch to captivate the fans in the Asian subcontinent. In a recent such segment of WWE, renown superstars including the likes of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Bella Twins, Charlotte Flair, hall of Famer Kurt Angle and Mark Henry among others took a hilarious attempt with popular Bollywood dialogues. This is not the first time the WWE have added a Bollywood touch to their show. Since the arrival of former WWE star ‘The Great Khali’, the company have had several such segments with occasional Bhangra shows and other acts which are Indian centric. In the recent years, several WWE superstars like Braun Strowman, Matt Hardy, The New Day, Big Show, Kane among others have visited India for promotional activities and to build a good talent hunt programme.

WWE’s Director of Talent Development Canyon Ceman recently revealed that the WWE are aiming to make their Indian talent pipeline to be the most robust of any of their international markets.
One of the major reasons for former WWE champion, Jinder Mahal’s surge in the company since 2017 has been because they want to get more traction and build a large audience base here. This has worked well as the viewership has increased in the country. India has had good wrestling-base in the states of Haryana and Punjab and the company are looking to make the most of the resources here by setting up a good scouting system.
