Kylian Mbappe Gifts Real Madrid Jersey To Tennis Great Rafael Nadal After La Liga Draw vs Mallorca – WATCH

Kylian Mbappe joined Real Madrid earlier this season on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

New Delhi: Kylian Mbappe gifted his Real Madrid jersey to tennis legend Rafael Nadal after the two met post Real Madrid’s 1-1 La Liga draw against RCD Mallorca at the Son Moix Stadium. Mbappe, a FIFA World Cup winner with France in 2018, joined his dream club Real Madrid this season from Paris Saint-Germain. Although Mbappe scored on debut to help Real Madrid win the UEFA Super Cup final, the French star looked off-colour during his La Liga debut against Mallorca.

Post-match, Mbappe met Nadal inside the tunnel, who is also a Real Madrid supporter, and gifted him his jersey. The duo hugged each other before Mbappe rushed towards the team bus. A winner of 22 Grand Slams, Nadal is often seen at the stands to support Real Madrid. The Spaniard was last seen at the Paris Olympics 2024 where he lost to eventual gold medallist Novak Djokovic in the second round.

Against Mallorca, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti started with the same squad that beat Atalanta, with Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior and Mbappe in attack. It was Rodrygo who put Real Madrid ahead on 13 minutes into the match, but the hosts equalized with Vedat Muriqi’s goal in the 53rd minute.

Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy was sent off deep into second-half stoppage time for a hard foul on Muriqi. Meanwhile, Mallorca’s players provided a guard of honor for the Super Cup winners, lining up to applaud the Real Madrid team as they entered the field before kickoff.
