It has to be the greatest hattrick of all-time!
Lancashire’s Jordan Clark picked a hattrick against Yorkshire to rattle them, yet they won by 118 runs. Given the form Joe Root, Kane Williamson and Jonny Bairstow are in, removing them in a span of three balls is nothing short of surreal. But the 27-year-old did the impossible.
Root departed for 22 as he played forward before Williamson and Bairstow fell for golden ducks — stuck on the crease and driving. It could also be one of the greatest hattricks because the trio share is all in the top 16 of the ICC’s Test rankings and have 14,639 Test runs between them, sparking the debate as to whether this was the greatest hat-trick of all time.
One can compare this hattrick with the one Irfan Pathan got in the Karachi Test, removing Salman Butt, Younis Khan, and Md Yousuf. Yet, this has to be arguably the best of modern times.

Watch him take the wickets:
Two out of the three batsmen will soon be taking on India in a five-match Test series, where a lot will be expected from Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow. This performance will surely dent their confidence, but Root, on the other hand, bagged a 4/5, which again is surreal. More so, because he is a top-order batsman.
Meanwhile, India has already announced an 18-member squad for the first three Tests.
India’s Test squad: Virat Kohli (c), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Karun Nair, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur
