The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that it is reopening the investigation into the rape allegation against Juventus footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. The 2009 case has been reopened at the request of a woman. Kathryn Mayorga recently spilled the beans on her sexual encounter with the footballer, back in 2009 in a Las Vegas hotel room. Ronaldo had earlier shrugged the allegation calling it ‘fake’. With so much happening, Las Vegas Police Department decided they need to look into the details of the case all over again.

“At the time the report was taken, the victim did not provide detectives with the location of the incident or suspect description,” a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department statement said.

“As of September 2018, the case has been reopened and our detectives are following up on information being provided,” it added.

The out-of-court settlement which involved a payment of $375,000 was revealed along with details of the episode by Kathryn Mayorga recently.

As part of the settlement, Mayorga apparently wrote a letter to the footballer that his lawyers were obliged to make sure he had read within a fortnight of the agreement. It is asserted by Mayorga’s lawyers that this commitment was never fulfilled.

Meanwhile, once this case came to light, the footballer’s girlfriend came out in the open in a bid to support Ronaldo.

It was heartwarming to see Georgina Rodriguez come out and support Cristiano Ronaldo. She took to Instagram to show support and her post read, ” You always transform the obstacles that are put in your way into impulse and strength to show how great you are.”

Der Spiegel claims that Ronaldo answered that “she had said ‘no’ and ‘stop’ several times.”
