Going into Day 4, Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara will had their work cut out on Day 4. They first saw off the first hour without losing a wicket and then step on the accelerator in the post-lunch session. India has a solid 166-run-lead in the second innings and they also have seven wickets in the hand.
India is in the driver’s seat thanks to Ashwin and the rest of the bowlers rising to the occasion when the team needed them the most. The bowlers bowled in the right areas and did not give away easy runs which made India’s 250 look much bigger than it was. Pujara has been the difference between the two sides. Pujara slammed his 16th century in the first innings when the pitch had something for the bowlers and India batsmen could not handle it well.
Australia, on the other hand, will look to make most of the first hour when the batsmen will have to restart and would not be set. It is all about the first hour it seems. India has Pant to follow who can get quick runs and India will look to get 250 + first and then reasses.
