Live Cricket Updates AUS vs IND 3rd Test, Day 1: What a wonderful day of Test cricket. Definitely, India will head into the pavilion as the happier side but Australia will not be too disheartened. They have bowled wonderfully and restricted the scoring rate to less than 2.5 rpo. The pitch has looked demon less so far and the batsmen who are willing to spend time at the crease will surely find a way to score runs. All the Indian batsmen so far have played more than 60 balls. Pat Cummins looked the best out of all the bowlers used today and he has been rewarded with both the wickets that fell today. The rest of the bowlers haven’t looked like picking wickets but have done well to stop runs. Surely, the injury to Nathan Lyon has affected them a bit and helped the visitors’ cause a bit more.

Live Cricket Score AUS vs IND 3rd Test, Day 1: That’s Stumps! Starc is spitting fire here suddenly and the ball is full and swinging in. Kohli does really well to drive this well towards mid on. End of a terrific over from one of the best left-arm pacers in the world. Just showed his class after being on the field for nearly 90 overs. India 215/2 at Stumps vs Australia at MCG

Live Cricket Updates AUS vs IND 3rd Test, Day 1: Kohli Dropped! Wide outside off after the ball coming in, Kohli goes chasing and gets an edge on this. This looks like it won’t carry to Paine behind but it does just about. The keeper dives to his right and tries to take it but can’t hold on. Very tough chance this but these are the ones if taken, that can change the course of matches. India 213/2 vs Australia in Melbourne

Short outside off and Pujara hangs the bat outside off from within the crease and places it beautifully for a boundary through the gap between slip and gully. India 209/2 vs Australia in Melbourne

Australia vs India 2018, 3rd Test HighlightsDay 1: Debutant Mayank Agarwal provided the base with a confident half-century before Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara steered India to a solid 215/2 on day one of the third Test against Australia on Wednesday. Agarwal, thrusted into the squad following the failure of KL Rahul and Murali Vijay, responded with a 76-run knock off balls, sorting out India’s opening woes to some extent.

The conditions, though, were completely different from what Rahul and Vijay had countered in bowler-friendly Adelaide and Perth. The MCG pitch turned out to be docile, ideal for someone making his Test debut as the Australian pacers had to bend their back to get the Kookaburra ball to rise sharply. Make-shift opener Hanuma Vihari did not make many runs, getting just 8 off 68 balls in his 40-run stand with Agarwal but they batted out 18.5 overs, India’s longest opening stand in terms of balls faced in Test cricket across Australia, New Zealand, England and South Africa since December 2010. (Read Full Preview of 3rd Test – AUS vs IND)
