IND vs ENG, 5th Test Latest Score Updates: OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! That is the final nail in the coffin. Jadeja walks back as he is done in by another excellent outswinger by Sam Curran. He is really making full use of the new ball. He once again angles it into the batsman first and then gets it to leave him. Jadeja plays inside the line, the ball kisses the outside edge and jonny Bairstow behind does not drop it this time as he takes it with a dive to his left. One wicket away now England. India 292 and 328/8, need 136 runs to win vs England (332 and 423/8)

IND vs ENG, 5th Test Latest Score Updates: OUT! Adil Rashid removes Rishabh Pant for 114. And pant holes out! One shot too many from him. End of the patience stocks perhaps. But before we go further, let’s just applaud the calibre, grit and determination he showed on the way to 114, his fist in the Test cricket. He broke a lot of records with his knock. Coming to the ball now – it was wide with a lot of air and revs on it. Pant looks to deposit in into the stands but the bat turns in his hands. As a result, the ball hangs in the air and goes towards Mooen Ali at long off. He stations himself under it and hangs on to it to end Delhi youngster’s innings. India is in a lot of trouble now. India 292 and 328/7, need 136 runs to win vs England (332 and 423/8)

IND vs ENG, 5th Test Latest Score Updates: OUT! Adil Rashid finally gets the breakthrough for the hosts, KL Rahul departs for a well made 149. Gone! Needed a special delivery to remove a special batsman. What a peach! I’m stunned. It lands way outside leg but in the rough. The ball moves towards the off pole like a vicious snake. Rahul goes back to play it down but misses it altogether. The ball hits the off pole and ends the marathon partnership of 204-runs, best for the 6th wicket and only the second pair to do so in the fourth innings. Kudos to Rashid, Shane Warne’s ball of the century has a competitor now.
India 292 and 325/5, need 139 runs to win vs England (332 and 423/8)

India vs England 2018, 5th Test at Kennington Oval: India had their opportunities early on in the series, when they came close at Edgbaston, but fell 31 runs short and then at Southampton, where India lost by 60 runs. India now take on West Indies in a few days time in India. Young Rishabh Pant made amends for his poor glovework with a scintillating hundred as India reached 298 for 5 against England at tea in pursuit of a world record target of 464 in the fifth and final Test. Left-handed Pant was batting 101 and added 177 runs for the sixth wicket with KL Rahul (142 batting) as India require 166 runs in 32 overs in the final session to earn a world record victory.

India vs England: Day 4 Highlights

While Cook made it a memorable ending to his illustrious career with a 33rd hundred, Root scored his first hundred in 28 innings as Indian bowlers struggled in absence of an injured Ishant Sharma.

While Cook’s 286 ball knock had 14 boundaries, Root hit 12 fours and a six off 190 balls as both were dismissed off successive deliveries by debutant Hanuma Vihari (2/24).

In the post-lunch session, the duo looked to build on their partnership and further frustrate the Indian bowlers, bringing up their 200-stand off 303 balls.

Root, on 94, got a second life as Cheteshwar Pujara dropped him at first slip off Mohammed Shami (2-97) in the 77th over. He then went on to score his 14th Test hundred off 151 balls.

Thereafter, Root started attacking as England crossed 300 in the 88th over. India were a bowler short with Ishant leaving the field due to ankle pain. (India vs England: Day 4 Report)
