Trailing by 296 runs, Bangladesh openers put on a mammoth 312-run opening stand to cut down the deficit. Eventually the Test match ended in a draw, but it was morale victory for Bangladesh. Overall, Bangladesh did well in batting department, but bowlers did struggle against the experienced batting line-up of Pakistan.
For Pakistan, despite Mohammad Hafeez’s superb double ton and substantial 1st innings lead bowlers failed to capitalise in 2nd innings, thus allowing Bangladesh batsmen to secure a draw. It was an ordinary bowling display by Pakistan bowling attack. Saeed Ajmal is likely to be back for this fixture and he will be keen to put up a match-winning show after his remodelled action.
