So Pakistan end day 2 on high and are in commanding position. Pakistan declared 557 for eight after resuming on overnight score of 323 for three. Thanks to double ton by Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq’s century Pakistan managed to put huge 1st innings total. In reply, Bangladesh were undone by seamer Junaid Khan who picked two wickets upfront.  Spinner Yasir Shah bowled beautifully to pick two wickets in his six overs. Wahab Riaz chipped in with a wicket as well. With half the side back in hutch Bangladesh still trail by 450 runs.

 

Mushfiqur Rahim Out! This is getting worse and worse for Bangladesh. Now captain Mushfiqur departs. Yasir Shahhas bowled a wonderful delivery to clean up Mushfiqur. Outfoxed him with a googly. Mushfiqur played for leg spin, but it spun in towards the batsman who was looking to cut the ball. Rahim b Yasir Shah 12(24) [4s-3]. And that is stumps on day 2 with that.

Live Score Bangladesh 100/4 after 25 Overs: Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim are now looking to take Bangladesh out of the initial slump. Quick strikes by Pakistan have left Bangladesh in all sorts of trouble. With top-order back in the hut, much rests on Shakib and skipper Mushfiqur. Bangladesh trail by 449 runs.

Mahmudullah Out! Bangladesh have lost another wicket. Mahmudullah is caught at short leg by Azhar Ali. Wahab Riaz bowls a bouncer, the batsman tries to duck, but ball takes the handle of the bat and goes towards short leg. Mahmudullah c Azhar Ali b Riaz 28(32) [4s-4]. Captain Mushfiqur Rahim is the new man in.

Imrul Kayes Out!  Yasir Shah does the trick in his first over. He removes in-from Imrul Kayes. Deceived by the flighted delivery, Kayes opted for flick. But misses the line of the ball and is bowled. Kayes b Yasir Shah 32(46) [4s-6]. Shakib Al Hasan walks out to bat.

Mominul Haque Out! This is big wicket for Pakistan, Junaid Khan gets the second wicket as well. Mominul Haque edges one to the keeper, who takes a good low catch. Mominul c Sarfraz Ahmed b Junaid Khan 13(34) [4s-2]. Mahmudullah walks out to bat.

Live Score Bangladesh 31/1 after 5 Overs: Despite losing his partner Tamim Iqbal early, Imrul Kayes is not afraid of playing his shots. The left-hander is scoring at a healthy run-rate and has already hit four fours. He has raced to 18 off just 13 balls. Mominul Haque on the other end is pretty watchful and looking to see off the new ball.

Tamim Iqbal Out! What a start for Pakistan, Junaid Khan strikes in first over. In-form Tamim Iqbal is back in the hutch. Junaid traps him in front of the wicket and umpire took his time to give that one out. Tamim opted for review, but the ball was hitting stumps convincingly. Tamim lbw b Junaid Khan 4(4) [4s-1]. There you go, Pakistan have declared. Bangladesh openers will have a tough job ahead to try and survive the last session of the day. Both Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes are in-form and how they respond will set the tone for Bangladesh innings.

It is time for Tea Break on Day 2. Pakistan are in comfortable position right now with runs on board. Another prolific session for Pakistan as Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq reached their respective milestones. Azhar scored his maiden double ton while Asad slammed his 6th Test hundred. Wahab Riaz Out! In search of quick runs Pakistan have lost three wickets in succession. Wahab Riaz looking to big on leg-sides ends up hitting in the air, Imrul Kayes runs back from mid-on and takes the catch. Riaz c Kayes b T Islam 4(9). Yasir Shah walks in at number nine.

Asad Shafiq Out! Pakistan have lost another set batsman here. Asad Shafiq is the latest to be dismissed. Got tempted to smash the flighted delivery, gets bottom of the bat and fielder came running in from long-off to complete the catch. Azhar Ali Out! Bangladesh have got the breakthrough, but Azhar Ali has already done the damage. End of a superb knock by him. Live Score Pakistan 527/4 after 145 Overs: Declaration is on cards as Asad Shafiq scored his 6th Test century and Pakistan have over 500 runs on board. The partnership between Azhar Ali and Asad is past 200-hundred run mark as well. Bangladesh bowlers look hapless at the moment and will be hoping that declaration comes soon.

Live Score Pakistan 497/4 after 139 Overs: Pakistan batsmen, Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq have come out strong after the lunch break. Azhar notched his maiden double hundred, he started the day on unbeaten 127 and reached his milestone with a cracking six. On the other end, Asad his approaching his milestone as well. He has batting in 90s. Pakistan continue to dominate the proceedings.

Live Score Pakistan 428/4 after 123 Overs: It is time for lunch break on day two. The partnership between Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq has crossed hundred-run mark now. It has been yet another prolific session for Pakistan despite losing skipper Misbah-ul-haq early. Asad got to his 12th Test fifty as both batsmen dominated the proceedings. Bangladesh will need to comeback strong otherwise as Pakistan look set to post a huge 1st innings total. Azhar is batting on 173 while Asad on 58.

Both Azhar and Asad Shafiq are looking comfortable out there and their partnership for the fourth wicket is now worth 86 runs. Bangladesh desperately in search of a breakthrough.

Live Score Pakistan 376/4 after 110 Overs: After the watchful start Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq look well-set now. Both batsmen are finding fence at will. Azhar smashed Shakib Al Hasan for couple of boundaries to notch his 150. Azhar will be now be eyeing his maiden double hundred, yes it is too early to say, but then there is an opportunity for him to get to that. Asad Shafiq on the other hand is looking solid as well.

Both Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq are being cautious at the moment, looking to get their eye in. There is turn as well in the pitch and odd ball is spinning sharply. We expect Pakistan to up the ante, now that it has been over one hour of play since morning.

 

Live Score Pakistan 337/4 after 100 Overs: After five maiden overs on the trot Pakistan finally broke the shackles and got their scoreboard ticking. Asad Shafiq smashed Shakib Al Hassan for a six down the ground. Good positive intent by the batsman there. Both Azhar and Ali should eye for singles as well. Bangladesh bowlers have been disciplined so far.

Misbah ul Haq Out! Good start to the day for Bangladesh as Shakib Al Hasan cleans up Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq in the second over of the day. Pakistan have lost a wicket on day 2 without adding a run to the overnight total. Misbah advanced few steps to get to the pitch of the ball. It was pitched on leg and spun sharply to clip top of leg-stump. Misbah b Shakib 9(22) [6s-1]. Asad Shafiq is the new batsman in for Pakistan.

After a solid outing on day one, Pakistan will be looking to pile up huge first innings total while Bangladesh, who are one bowler short, as Shahadat Hossain is injured, will be eyeing to restrict Pakistan as soon as possible. Also Read- Highlights of BAN vs PAK Day 1.

Pakistan will resume the day on an overnight score of 323 for three with Azhar Ali and Misbah0ul-Haq at the crease. Centuries from Azhar and Younis Khan helped Pakistan cross 300-hundred run mark on day one after losing openers early on. However, both the centurions were lucky as they got reprieve when being caught of no-balls. For Bangladesh it was not the best of the day. Early in the day they lost strike bowler Shahadat Hossain to a knee injury and later he could not make it to the ground. On a wicket which was supposed to help fast bowlers early on Bangladesh were left without one of their prime seamer.
