Hello and welcome to the third and last day’s coverage between India and Sri Lanka Board President’s XI. With a lead of 342 runs India are in driving seat and will be looking to notch a win in this practice match. After Ajinkya Rahane’s 124 floated India t0 351, it was bowlers led by Ishant Sharma who demolished the home side. The lanky fast bowler claimed a five-wicket in just 21 deliveries.

After Ishant inflicted early damage, SLBPXI never recovered from that and were eventually bowled out for 121, handing India a lead of 230 runs. Pacer Varun Aaron and Ravichandran Ashwin scalped two wickets each while Harbhajan Singh chipped in with a wicket.

India then decided against enforcing follow-on and Virat Kohli along with Rohit Sharma opened the innings. But the move did not work and Rohit failed once again in this match as he dismissed for just eight runs. India then lost wickets of Kohli and Wriddhiman Shah. At stumps KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara were batting on 47 and 31 respectively.
