This one was nothing close to finesse. The buildup played perfectly to Giroud’s strengths. A ball was lofted into the box, the Arsenal striker jumped above two Irish defenders to head it into to the path of Griezmann, who takes a touch in space, and rifles the ball past Rudolph into the left corner. The wheels come off quite quickly and the French are in ecstasy.
