(Catch the Live Updates of the Germany vs Slovakia, Euro 2016 Last 16 here)

Hello and welcome to the live updates of the Euro 2016 match between Germany and Slovakia. Germany have never failed to reach the last four of a major tournament since 2006. The World Champions are past masters at somehow dragging themselves to the last four of a tournament. Slovaks have impressed in patches and who can forget their dominant display against Russia. Marek Hamsik, with his guile, creativity and experience holds the key for the Slovaks. There is a lot to prove for Bastian Schweinsteiger, who has had a miserbale season so far. Without the realible head of Phillip Lahm, there is a lot to prove for some of the younger crop of Germany, who are here in numbers.

There is a lot of pressure on Julian Draxler in particular. Stepping into the shoes of Marco Reus is not an easy task and the Shalke forward has struggled in the tournament so far. Slovaks proved against England that they will not be a team that will roll over. Martin Skrtel has been terrific at the back and remains pivotal to his side’s chances of shocking Germany. One can’t expect Germany to go gung-ho here either. However, one expects greater involvement from the Maanchaft’s brains in midfield, Toni Kroos and their engine, Sami Khedira. Also Check: EURO CUP 2016 schedule

Full Time Facile win for Germany, who, yet again never had to get out of third gear. All the players looked good and the chances kept raining in till the end of the game. With Neuer between the sticks and a backline that is yet to concede a single goal in the tournament so far, the three-time champions are the favourites. They are slowly getting into the groove in a manner that only Germany can

Bastian Schweinsteiger and Lucas Podolski come on for Germany. Attacking moves from Low when most teams would have shut shop

  • Jun 26, 2016 10:55 PM IST

66′ Hummels slides in and gets a yellow card. It was rash and unnecessary from Munich’s latest recruit.

Sweet finish and the men in white are in cruise control. Corner was swung in by Kroos, Hummels headed the ball but it was blocked off. The ball, which has now bobbed up in the air falls kindly in the path of Draxler, who volleys it stylishly to the roof of the net.

63′ GOAL!!! GERMANY 3-0 SLOVAKIA (Draxler)

  • Jun 26, 2016 10:44 PM IST

55‘ Germany flowing forward in numbers again. Everyone looks so easy on the ball. Slovaks are not bad on the counter, which could probably stem from the sheer number of men that that Low’s team is pouring forward.

48′ Germany begin from where they left and and Kroos shoots from distance, which is blocked. Meanwhile, Slovakia create a counter from which Kucka shoots and it is straight to Neuer.

That will be all from the 1st half. Germans are marching to the semis in some command.

  • Jun 26, 2016 10:18 PM IST

‘Earlier Kucka had a superb chance from an excellent cross from the right wing from Duris. The ball looked destined to hit the roof of the net but Neuer dived and tipped the ball over with his right hand superbly

  • Jun 26, 2016 10:16 PM IST

That was easy as it came for Gomez, who tapped the ball into the net. The work from Draxler was pivotal here, receiving the ball on the left, easily beating the fullback and getting to the byline and cutting the ball back. The Fiorentina striker’s strength in the area was too much to handle for the Slovak backline, who were waging a losing battle there
