Hello and welcome to India.com’s LIVE coverage of Pro Kabaddi League, Season 5 opening two matches, to be played between Telugu Titans and the new team Tamil Thalaivas and the second match, which will be played between U Mumba and Puneri Paltan, which can also be termed as Maharashtra derby.
The first match will start at 8 pm IST, while the second one is scheduled to start at 9 pm IST. Telugu vs Tamil and Mumbai vs Pune will take place at the Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad. We are in for the the thrilling opening match, as the experienced Titans will take on the youthful side from Chennai, which is co-owned by cricketing great Sachin Tendulkar. Rahul Chaudhari will lead Telugu Titans, while Tamil Thalaivas will be under the command of Ajay Thakur, who was India’s World Cup final hero.

The fifth season of PKL promises to be exciting than ever as this time four new teams have joined the tournament. The first edition was won by Jaipur Pink Panthers while U Mumba claimed the second. Patna Pirates defended their title in 2016 and became two-time champions (2015, 2016) after defeating Jaipur Pink Panthers.
So, on the first day of PKL Season 5, Telugu Titans and Puneri Paltan emerged as the winner.
