MI win by 8 wickets, MI 161/2 in 18.1 Ovs | Mumbai win it comfortably in the end and Rohit finishes it off in style with a big six over mid-wicket and that is the end of it. Another day, another loss and there is plenty for MSD to ponder about.

MI 61/1 in 8 Ovs | RPS have consolidated in the last few overs and that has led to them finding a way back in the contest. Rayudu released some of the pressure by stepping down the track and hammering Ashwin over deep mid-wicket for a six.

MI 39/1 in 4 Ovs | There goes the first one. The Mumbai batsmen plundered as many as 31 runs in the last two overs and RPS got the breakthrough they so craved for. Parthiv Patel went for a hard slash through point, got an edge and MS Dhoni behind the stumps took a terrific one handed catch. It was of his left hand too.

MI 8/0 in 2 Ovs | Mumbai Indians have got off to a cautious start and there is not much the batsmen are doing that suggests that they want to gung-ho in the early overs. There are only singles and twos so far and the first boundary came with Dinda spraying one on Patel’s pads, the ball was tucked away to the fence. RPS have also started well.

RPS 159/5 in 20 Ovs | Saurabh Tiwary has reached his fifty and it has come of 39 deliveries. Peter Handscomb had a forgettable match and didn’t last long. Dhoni didn’t leave much of an impact too and Mumbai did wonderfully well in the latter stages of the game.

RPS 92/2 in 9.2 Ovs | Steve Smith departs but the batsman has truly found his groove after his ton in the last game. The Australian skipper went after the bowling right from the word go and hammered Tim Southee and co with some ease. Bumrah came back into the attack and got a faint edge off his blade. Second one down. S Smith c Patel b Bumrah 45 (23)

RPS 8/1 in 2 Ovs | What a start for Mumbai. McLeanaghan continues his good form and effects the wicket of the in-form Ajinkya Rahane. The RPS opener slashed at the delivery and the ball went straight to third man’s throat. A Rahane c K Pandya b McLeanaghan 4 (5)

Hello and Welcome to the Live Updates of the match between Rising Pune Supergiants and Mumbai Indians here. There is a bit of a problem for MS Dhoni’s side, who are mired in injury problems and their bowlers not delivering the goods. Mumbai also had it tough in the beginning but since found their feet in the competition. The balance of the side is excellent now but they need to field better than the last game. Who can forget Tim Southee dropping those two dollys in the deep. Also Catch- RPS vs MI, IPL 2016, Live Score

As for Mumbai’s bowling, it’s the middle overs where they looking like losing their way. In consecutive games, they have taken wickets in the early overs, only to let the batsmen get back in the contest in the death. Dhoni and co have an uphill task here. Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai were the only side who were better than Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings in the history of the competition.
