DD win by 8 wickets | Another win for DD, who move to the second spot in the table. They thoroughly outplayed their opponents out of the park.

DD 115/1 in 13.3 Ovs Take a bow, Rishabh Pant. The U-19 batsman was in terrific touch, smashing the bowlers to all parts. It has been a thoroughly professional display from Delhi so far and De Kock is also closing in on a half-century. Victory within sights as Sanju Samson has come to the middle.

GJ 149/7 in 20 Ovs | Delhi were disciplined in the final overs and didn’t give Gujarat enough opportunities to go for big hits. The ending folded out quite tamely in the end with James Faulkner not contributing much. Barring a couple of good shots, Jadeja couldn’t really force the issue either. Shami, Zaheer and Morris were tidy with their lengths and the innings folds with a run out, effected by an accurate throw from Sam Billings at sweeper.

GJ 127/5 in 17.3 Ovs | Dinesh Karthik reached his fifty and then disappeared. Shami deceived him with a slower ball, which ended an excellent rescue innings from Karthik. Jadeja is giving him good support in the middle.

GJ 75/4 in 11 Ovs | Amit Mishra is persisted with and Zaheer is rewarded with the wicket of Suresh Raina. The partnership between Raina and DK was going along at a fair clip and Delhi were searching for a wicket. De Kock’s work behind the stumps was excellent.

GJ 35/3 in 6 Ovs |  What a start for Delhi, who have been excellent during the powerplay overs. It was skipper Zaheer Khan who started the the freefall by removing Brendon McCullum. Then, it got even better with Shahbaz Nadeem removing Dwayne Smith and Aaron Finch. Gujarat have their task cut out.

Gujarat have been fantastic from the start of the season. One would think that with a new captain, new side, things would take some time to settle in. The Gujarat side has done wonderfully well and it through sticking to the two basic rules of Twenty 20 (T20) cricket well: Getting a start that would throw the opposition away, and by winning the crucial moments in the death. The final overs have been an area where Gujarat have thrived and have yielded three of their wins in the tournament so far. They have been excellent at keeping their nerve. After all. they have cool, calm finishers in Dinesh Karthik, skipper Suresh Raina and James Faulkner. Delhi Daredevils, under Zaheer Khan have been impressive too so far. At the start, they struggled to find the right combination. With the Indian contingent performing so well, there are several things that have gone well. If both teams perform to their potential, there should be quite a match in Rajkot, which has traditionally been a batting paradise.
