Mohali, April 8: Top order batsman Lokesh Rahul on Sunday became the fastest player to notch up a half-century. He brought up the milestone in 14 balls after hitting Delhi spinner Amit Mishra for plenty. The record was earlier held by middle order batsman Yusuf Pathan who raced to 50 runs in 15 balls.
Rahul smashed 4 hits over the fence and 6 boundaries on his way to the milestone 14-ball 51.
Kolkata all-rounder Sunil Narine have also scored a half-century in 15 balls. However, KL Rahul was later dismissed for 51 runs in 16 balls as Punjab chases 167 runs against Delhi at home. He was dismissed by Trent Boult as Punjab are reduced to 64/2.
