Manager Jurgen Klopp isn’t fearful over Liverpool’s top-four prospects and expects their rivals to keep dropping points.

The Reds travel to Watford on Monday night knowing victories in their last four games will ensure Champions League qualification.

Klopp’s side were beaten in their last outing at home to lowly Crystal Palace, prompting concern among supporters over their mental strength.

The Liverpool boss, though, is not anxious about the possibility his team could miss out on a return to Europe’s elite competition, with Manchester United, City and Arsenal all scrapping for the two available places behind Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

“I didn’t feel anything like this in the last few weeks,” said Klopp. “The situation is like it is. “If you look at the points everything is good, if you look at the number of games played it is like, ‘oh’. It is not like it looks.

“It is easy mathematics to know what points the other teams can get, but they play against each other and all that stuff.

“No team of the teams we fight for top four can win all the games. They play in a few moments against each other. Why should we think about it too much?”

“It was about giving the game away from out of our hands. Then it was difficult to play the football you want to play, the game was like Crystal Palace wanted.

“We were clearly better, we did the right things, but at the end everyone speaks about the tactical plan of the other team with 28% possession winning the football game.

“That is completely okay, but I don’t think we could play with 28% at home against Crystal Palace. There is no option for us.”
