68′: Attempt – On-target – Man City: Jovetic has enough space 25-yards out and tries to curl the ball into the far post but De Gea leaps well and catches it.

63′: Goal – Man City: Finally we have the first goal of the match. Great build up play from Man City as Milner sends Clichy down the left. The Frenchman finds Aguero with his pull back and the Argentinean slams it home with his first touch.
60′: Yellow Card – Man City: Man City have another shout for penalty turned down as Aguero is brought down inside the box by Fellaini. Man Utd counter and Demichelis gets booked for a foul on Di Maria.
55′: Substitution – Man Utd: Another blow for the Red Devils as Rojo is down injured after -believe it or not- attempting to make a tackle. Teenager Patrick McNair will replace the Argentinean who is stretchered off.
50′: Attempt – Off-target – Man City: Navas’ cross from the right is intercepted by a red shirt but not cleared. Zabaleta darts into the box and tries his luck but catches the ball on the under side and it flies away for a goal-kick.

Half-Time: Man City have a shout for penalty as Rojo takes the ball as well as Yaya Toure inside the box. The referee’s view is blocked but he gives the away team the benefit of the doubt and just seconds later blows the whistle for half-time. It’s remains goalless at the Etihad. The talking point will certainly be Smalling’s red card. No arguments or protest from anyone including the player. He knew it was stupid to pick up the first one and decided to lunge in despite being aware that he was walking a tight-rope.
45′: There will be three minutes of added time as Man City press to take the lead and deal their rivals a massive blow just before the break.
43′: Substitution – Man Utd: Januzaj is sacrificed to add an additional body in midfield and Michael Carrick gets his opportunity.
42′: Toure finds Aguero, who goes down clutching his ankle under a challenge from Fellaini. The referee doesn’t give a penalty and the Belgian feels the Argentinean is playacting.
40′: The free-kick is delivered in by Milner but Kompany is unable to make contact and the ball flies wide for a goal-kick. Marouane Fellaini has now switched to centre-back.
39′: RED CARD – MAN UTD: The Red Devils are down to 10-men as Chris Smalling is sent off. He takes down Milner with a rash challenge just outside the box and the referee has no option but to show the England international a second yellow card.
31′: Man Utd have a free-kick after Zabaleta delivers a late challenge on Robin van Persie. Di Maria delivers it but the ball is safely into Joe Hart’s hands. Yellow Card – Man Utd: Smalling picks up a needless booking after blocking Hart’s drop-kick. That was very stupid by the centre-back.
29′: Attempt – Off-target – Man City: Yaya Toure tries to curl it in but can only send the ball over De Gea’s goal. Goal-kick for the visitors.
28′: Yellow Card – Man Utd: Blind is the first player to be booked this evening after he hashes down Yaya Toure nearly 25-yards away from goal. Free-kick in a dangerous area for Man City.
22′: Fernando delivers a beautiful cross for Aguero but De Gea reacts well to intercept the cross and collides with the Argentinean. Both men are momentarily down and are able to continue.
21′: Attempt – On-target – Man City: Chance once again for the Citizens. Neat buildup play allows Toure to spot Navas’ run behind Man Utd defence. The Spaniard strikes high and De Gea’s reflexes ensure the score remains goalless.
20′: Attempt – On-target – Man City: Fernando launches a long-ball towards Aguero, who controls it well and races past Rojo to unleash a shot. The Argentinean forward drifts into a wide angle and cannot force a powerful shot towards goal.
18′: Free- kick for Man City: Aguero tries to race towards Man Utd goal but is brought down by his national teammate Marcos Rojo. Milner delivers the set-piece but no Man City player is able to meet it and the ball rolls wide for a goal-kick.
14′: Attempt – Off-target – Man Utd: Di Maria tries to find a red shirt inside the box with his cross. Van Persie meets it with his head but can only hit the side-netting.
13′: Decent start to the game. Only one clear chance has been created so far and it has gone to Aguero. Man Utd have the pace and trickery of Di Maria. They are retaining possession for now and Januzaj wins a free-kick in his own half after inviting a tackle from Clichy.

1′: Manchester United kick-off and have already won a free kick. Di Maria’s delivery towards Rojo is saved by Joe Hart but the flag is up for offside.

Manuel Pellegrini has brought back Demichelis to partner alongside Kompany after lacklustre dislpay by Eliaquim Mangala in the 2-1 defeat to West Ham United. David Silva is injured and James Milner takes his place in the starting lineup as Stevan Jovetic replaces Edin Dzeko.
Louis van Gaal has opted to deply his team in a 4-5-1 manner. Robin van Persie, who scored the equaliser late in injury time against Chelsea, will lead the attack once again. Returning to the side is Wayne Rooney, who served a three-match suspension after picking up a red card against West Ham United. The England and Man Utd skipper would have certainly leadrned his lesson and will be looking to help his side beat their rivals.
