Manchester United’s Paul Pogba strained relationship with former boss Jose Mourinho was no secret. There were videos from training that surfaced the internet and went viral where the coach had a tiff with Paul Pogba. However, all’s well that ends well and the Frenchmen has thanked the man who bought him back to Old Trafford.
“We won trophies with Jose and I want to thank him for that. Not everything worked well, but (some) things went well,” Pogba told the British media.
“He makes me improve, as a person as well, and that’s it. That’s the past, I want to thank him for that. I’m sure that is the same for all the players.”
Pogba was stripped off his vice-captaincy earlier in the season and was benched for most of Mourinho’s last few games with the Red Devils. However, the world cup winner was restored in the starting eleven by new coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and was pleased with the result of new coach’s first match in charge.
Manchester United defeated Cardiff City by the scoreline of 5-1, they scored more than five goals for the first time since legendary coach Alex Ferguson was in charge
“The performance of the team was great and we are happy that the first game of the manager starts like this,” Pogba added.
“It’s important now to carry on like that. We cannot play like this and win with five goals and then the next game lose.”
Manchester United are currently placed in the sixth position and will aim to turn around the fortunes of their season by making it to the top four of the Premier League.
