Cristiano Ronaldo’s rape allegations by an American woman, Kathryn Mayorga has fostered more women to come out and give their account of similar experience against the footballer. Mayorga alleged that he raped her, threatened her and bought her silence in 2009, these claims were published by German magazine Der Spiegel and it was denied and called “blatantly illegal” by the Portuguese international and Juventus football Club striker.
The five-time ‘World’s best footballer’ title winner strongly denied the accusations of a woman.
The lawyers for Kathryn Mayorga, who claims Ronaldo raped her in 2009 in the penthouse of a Las Vegas hotel, have told The Sun that three more women have made contact and they are probing these claims surrounding the footballer.
Leslie Stovall, the lawyer who is representing the accuser Mayorga, one woman has claimed that she was raped by Ronaldo after a party — an allegation similar to the one made by Mayorga.
According to the report, another accuser has claimed that she was “hurt by Ronaldo” while the third is reported to have entered into a non-disclosure agreement with the footballer in 2009.
“I am following up to verify this information,” the report quoted Stovall as saying.
Initially, the 33-year-old footballer firmly denied stating, “I firmly deny the accusations being issued against me. Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in. Keen as I may be to clear my name, I refuse to feed the media spectacle created by people seeking to promote themselves at my expense,”
“My clear conscious will thereby allow me to await with tranquillity the results of any and all investigations.”
However, it remains to be ascertained whether the accounts provided by the three ladies are facts as the rape allegations case heat up.
